Ineffable Celestial Mischief is an original color pencil portrait on Toned Tan paper. It captures the rebel souls of David Tennant and Michael Sheen’s portrayal of Crowley and Aziraphale in Good Omens. This dynamic duo is depicted with a striking interplay of colors—Crowley in dark turquoise, red, and orange hues, while Aziraphale glows in light blue and golden tones. The colors of each character respond to one another, highlighting the light and dark sides within their bond.

In this portrait, Crowley and Aziraphale seem deeply connected, sharing a moment of pure happiness and complicity, as if nothing else exists around them. The light shines brightest where they are closest, emphasizing their unique connection while showcasing their individual colors. I added longer hair to Crowley and slightly longer curls and a beard to Aziraphale, drawing inspiration from Michael Sheen’s real look. This subtle change was intended to give them a touch more free will, particularly for Aziraphale, allowing them to appear even more at ease in their celestial mischief.

This portrait is a celebration of their bond and the contrasts that make them such iconic characters.

Material

Ineffable celestial mischief is an original drawing made with Faber Castell Polychromos and Caran d’Ache color pencils. I also used color and white Posca pens for highlights on a Strathmore paper 118g/m2 (80lb).
